Morning Tea Down Under

On the 14th June 2013, a beautiful sunny morning, school mums whose children have now grown up, jumped at the chance to gather for morning tea and a good ol’ chinwag at 58 Florence Road.

Some baked a cake for sale and others made donations.  Everyone was happy to donate generously to the worthy cause, The Brain Tumour Charity, remembering Vicky.

With their cakes came the same old excuse – that their ever reliable recipe had let them down, yet funnily enough all the cakes looked fantastic.

Having visited Australia, Vicky has touched our little community in Nedlands and many found her inspirational – the way she inspired others around her, the way she fought her courageous battle, the way her humour and positive spirit shone through, the way she lived more life than some who are blessed with a long life, and for being a wonderful young lady.

As a close friend said, Vicky would have been all smiles about the large gathering of friends enjoying each other’s company and conversation, happy to be there to mark the occasion.

Same day, same place, next year?
